Who does well here: people who show their work. Our entire public record is measured, caveated, and reproducible — every number carries its date, its job ID, and the runs that failed. We hire people who prefer that to polish, and who want to own a hard problem end to end: superconducting device design, error correction, classical control, or the measurement discipline that ties them together.
